Air sprung cells™: Fifty years ago, a slatted bed base was made of a few large springs with bumps and holes between them. Today, there are a multitude of small springs that increase comfort. Sea To Summit used this as a base construction to create the Air Sprung Cells™ technology. The idea is to create more independent cells. Ripstop: This fabric, often made from nylon, uses a special reinforcing technique that makes it tear and abrasion-resistant. During the weaving process, reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals into the hatched pattern. These intervals are generally 5 to 8 millimetres. Ripstop fabric is thin and lightweight and has a 3-dimensional structure due to the thicker threads being interwoven in thinner cloth. |
