4 WAY STRETCH: High elasticity clothing (4 times above average) that adapts to the athlete's movements, and quickly regains its shape.
Durastretch: These fabrics are a classic for alpine sports clothing; extremely comfortable and lightweight, they are also highly abrasion-resistant, ripstop and are made to last. DURASTRETCH fabrics quickly absorb sweat.
DWR: This coating allows water to form beads and run off the shell fabric instead of being absorbed. The water-repellent outer fabric increases insulation and prevents it from being saturated by liquids, preventing any feeling of dampness.
Kevlar®: Best known for its use in resistant armour, Kevlar® is an aramid fibre developed by DuPont™. It is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of aromatic rings which are separated by the amide groups. It is also used in various garments, accessories and equipment to enhance safety and abrasion resistance. It is light, durable and resistant.
This is a synthetic fibre which has excellent tensile properties and a high tensile strength. The toughness of Kevlar comes from its structure of hydrogen bonds held together between polymer chains.
PFC Free: PFCs are made up of polluting chemical, traditionally used in DWR treatments for durable water-repellency. SALEWA is committed to continually reducing the use of PFCs, while working with partners and suppliers to find greener solutions that do not compromise the performance, health or safety of athletes. The goal is to eliminate them completely from their products and manufacturing processes
Bluesign® Standard: Any fabric that is Bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimise the impact on people and the environment. A Bluesign® approved fabric ensures that:
